At the request of Robert Bird Group we were asked to undertake the design verification of the steel Gravity Base design for Atlantis Resources tidal generation unit to be installed at EMEC in Orkney.
We undertook full structural analysis and fatigue assessment in accordance with DNV Rules using the CALCULIX FEA suite and provided assistance in increasing the fatigue life of the structure to meet the design requirements.
